2016 has been a great year for smartphones, particularly for those running on the Android operating system. But because of this, any new release, no matter how grand, has been and will be compared to its relatively older competition. In this case, it is the tried and tested LG G5 and the newest Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
The LG G5, as noted by Know Your Mobile, has a metal body specifically crafted from magnesium. Using magnesium was a first for LG, but it paid off and resulted in a sleek yet interesting unibody design. It also comes with a detachable base segment so that users can get access to the battery. However, it also acts as a way to add on a mobile accessory like a camera and battery packs.
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, the LG G5 is definitely one of the strongest handhelds in the market. All around, it is only 149.4 x 73.9 x 7.7 mm and has a 5.3-inch screen. It comes pre-installed with the Android Marshmallow 6.0 operating system and runs smoothly on 4 GB of RAM.
The LG G5 has 32 GB of internal memory, but this is expandable with the help of a microSD card. Its rear and front camera are 16 megapixels and 8 megapixels respectively. The battery, which is 2800mAh, is not the largest in the market but is considered to be very reliable.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Note 7 is 10 grams heavier with a screen that is almost half an inch larger than the LG G5. However, both units share the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and both run on 4 GB of RAM.
Unlike the LG G5, the Galaxy Note 7 has a base memory of 64 GB, as reported by Android Headlines. Its rear camera is equipped with a 12 megapixel sensor, while its front camera is tagged as 5 megapixels. It does have a larger battery capacity at 3500mAh, although is not removable like the LG G5's.
