Verizon Will Provide Global Roaming In Galaxy S3

Great news comes for the US-based Galaxy S3 smartphone lovers who are eagerly waiting to buy the latest Samsung device. Verizon, one of the major carriers in the US, will provide global roaming in its smartphones so that the users can use their phones while traveling internationally.

The report came in PhoneScoop which claims that the network company has informed the website through an email. The website says "Verizon Wireless confirmed to Phone Scoop in an email that its variant of the Samsung Galaxy S III will eventually be able to roam onto the 2G/3G networks of overseas network operators. The capability won't be available at launch, but will be enabled down the line through a software update. Verizon didn't say when that update might become available."

In a recent report, CNET mentioned that Verizon said that the company will provide a software update to four of its Android based smartphones. The latest software will allow the smartphones to operate on Global System for Mobile Communications, or GSM networks. The first four phones to get this update GSM roaming are the Droid Razr, Droid Razr Maxx, Droid 4 and HTC Rezound. The latest name that was included in the list is Samsung Galaxy S3.

Till now Verizon offers "world phones," which allows customers to go roaming on most global networks.
