With Sixers' Nerlens Noel on the trading block, several teams have shown interest to the 22 year old Bigman. Previously reported here on iTechPost, Noel could possibly be shipped to the Boston Celtics after the trade rumors between the two teams had been revived through Noel's cryptic tweet from last week. Currently, it has been reported that the notable rival franchise of Boston, the Los Angeles Lakers has also shown interest on the Sixers' Big.
Lately, the Lakers has released a statement that an unknown trade could happen before the season starts in October. According to Yibada, Nick Young has a higher chance to be that guy since the 31 year old guard/forward has been unproductive in his last two seasons with the purple and gold. And fans considered him a distraction to the team moving forward. Although, there are no further reports about this unnamed trade. After drafting Brandon Ingram at number two last June, the chance of Young being traded has increased. Lakers could possibly trade Young for a valuable piece that the Lakers are lacking on their roster.
According to Inquistr, the Lakers and Sixers could potentially come into a deal of exchanging their pieces that could both benefit their respective teams. The Sixers reportedly is interested of looking for a wingman to substitute with either one of their bigs. With the Lakers having a huge problem with their defense down low, this could be the perfect opportunity to engage to a trade. Lakers could send Young to the Sixers in exchange for Noel.
Why the Sixers would do it? Despite of an aweful season, Young can still play ball. With Ben Simmons on the roster, they can utilize his playmaking skills with shooters around him. Why the Lakers would do it? Despite of drafting Zubac and acquiring Mozgov on free agency, the Lakers could still need an athletic rim protector. Noel's production will also be boosted with D'Angelo Russell's showing potential of being an elite playmaker.
However, Lakers is not on the rush of trading Young. But with Noel up and available, it would be no surprise if the team will make a push of acquiring Noel with Young in a potential package.
