iPhone 5: Video of Backplate Suggests Unibody Design and More

A new video of the much-anticipated iPhone 5's backplate is roaming around the Internet. This video compares the backplate with that of the current iPhone.

The video was published by CydiaBlog and is done by ETrade Supply, a wireless parts company. It features a highly detailed look of the alleged next generation iPhone's backplate. This backplate was also featured recently in some leaked photos earlier. The video shows that the headphone is placed at the bottom of iPhone which is new and the SIM card slot is different now. But the most noticeable part is the slim docking port.

The new iPhone 5 case looked thinner and taller when placed near the iPhone 4S in the video. There were rumors about mini dock, Nano-SIM and a 4-inch screen in the next generation iPhone and all of them are actually visible in that leaked case. Its headphone jack is also placed at the bottom now.

The photos can be Photoshopped easily so the authenticity of the supposed iPhone 5's leaked images was questionable. People have seen plenty of Photoshop fakes of Apple products over the years and in the end, none of them actually came true. But this time, rumors are looking pretty solid with this new video that features a well-crafted, supposed iPhone 5 part. However, Apple creates multiple prototype devices and phone parts before releasing the real device and this could be just one of them.

Apple is rumored to be planning the next generation iPhone's release in October. However, some reports revealed that the company is planning to release the phone in September, ahead of its schedule.
