Microsoft has been making a lot of buzz recently as rumors of an early release of their Surface Phone started circulating the tech world. Surface Phone is Microsoft's latest flagship and is pretty much expected to be the company's major comeback in the mobile phone industry.
It was initially noted that the tech giant will launch their newest smartphone in 2017. However, new reports revealed that Microsoft might make the big announcement at the upcoming IFA 2016 trade show in September and will be released as early as October this year.
With the upcoming releases of two smartphone giants (the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 this month and the iPhone 7 in September), an October release seems to be a reasonable move as it will provide additional option for consumers.
Several sources claim that the Surface Phone will be available in three variants; each comes in different memory and storage capacity (3GB RAM / 32GB storage, 6GB RAM / 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM / 500GB storage). It will run in a Snapdragon 830 processor, the top mobile chip from Qualcomm.
Surface Phone's display seems to be impressive as well. With a 5.7-inch AMOLED display, HD resolution can be remarkable. It will also sport a whopping 21-megapixel Carl Zeiss PureView rear camera. It also has a microSD card slot, USB Type-C port and liquid cooling technology.
Other rumored functions include Surface Pen functionality, fingerprint reader, gyro, accelerometer, barometer, compass and proximity sensors. The Bit Bag also reported that Microsoft Surface Phone offers Continuum support, a feature that allows users to connect their phone to big display devices such as TV screens or monitor.
Microsoft Surface Phone will be priced somewhere around $700-$1100, depending on the variant. Keep in mind though that there is no official confirmation about the actual release date so be on the lookout for any updates.
