The new Parrot DISCO is slated to change drone technology with its new features.
Parrot has now unveiled its all new user-friendly drone in the CES 2016. The DISCO drone features the standard quadcopter format for the fixed-wing system to enable easier take offs. It will be out in the market by September and will be priced at $1,299.
The package will include the DISCO drone, a Parrot's Skycontroller 2, as well as its Cockpit glasses The Cockpit glasses can be likened to the Gear VR, as it gives the user a first person view of what exactly the drone is seeing with the help of its camera.
It gives one the experience of flying like a bird as it also presents the radar and the telemetric information on the cockpit glasses as if you were the one piloting it from a distance. Despite its marketing having a "user-friendly" takeoff process, it still is not as easy as it sounds as it also shares the same mechanisms with the other Parrot drones.
It can reach speeds of up to 50 MPH, and fly on the air for 45 minutes. It features a 14 megapixel full HD camera that has a resolution of 1080. It is located on the nose of the drone, giving it an 180-degree wide angle view.
The DISCO drone has a built-in 32 GB internal storage memory. The first person (FPV) view headset, Parrot Cockpitglasses or the Parrot Skycontroller 2, are some of the devices that you can use to control the DISCO drone.
To pilot it with the Parrot Cockpitglasses, the user needs to use a smartphone, connect it to the drone and see the information and data collected.
Despite the fact that there are a lot of competitions that Parrot DISCO is facing, it still has the advantage thanks to its very effective and unique fixed wing system.
