Though not much information have been released by Nintendo about the NX console, gamers and non-gamers have their own speculations about its specs including Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.
Winning Back Casual Players
Guillemot revealed that "having a new machine coming is going to help the industry to continue to grow, and to take lots more casual players back to the industry." The move of Nintendo to focus on this market is in part done to try and "recapture the glory days of the original Wii and DS devices." Another reason is also, as Guillemot said, that they are concerned with helping the whole gaming industry grow.
Nintendo NX Speculated Specs
Nintendo NX will either use the x86 architecture of AMD or the NVIDIA Tegra processor. Though nothing is definite until Nintendo confirms these speculations, perhaps the most exciting feature that Nintendo NX might have is its rumored built-in camera. If this is true, it will be making history as the first game console in the market to do so. This might cast NX as a more powerful console compared to other mainstream VR headsets like Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR and Xbox One.
NX Is Wii U And 3DS In Rolled Into One
Another interesting feature of Nintendo NX is that, in a simpler sense, it's a combination of the Wii U and the 3DS. For those who enjoy playing their games both on a home console and on portable handheld gaming unit, the NX might be enticing to them. Its detachable controller units have "feedback and motion control capabilities."
From NX To GO
Nintendo NX name is not yet finalized. It may be named Nintendo GO upon its release in the market. The console is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2017. Consumers will have to wait until then.
