Asus shows off its new ZenBook 3 at the IFA 2016 event, revealing its major specs, features and why it is dubbed as the "Windows MacBook."
In a recent report, the two tech giants went head to head with their laptop devices with Asus ZenBook 3 surpassing the 2016 MacBook. Many tech enthusiasts can't help but compare the two since both has similarities with each other.
Asus Zenbook 3: The Windows MacBook
According to TechRadar, Asus ZenBook 3 is literally a "Windows-powered MacBook" and that it will be pretty hard to distinguish the two if it wasn't for the logo and brightly colored exterior.
The two devices both feature a single USB Type-C port and a headphone jack with no other ports visible. Both also has a shallow keyboard which according to report, has a "mushy" and "weird" feel to it.
ZenBook 3 was also said to come in three colors: Royal Blue, Quartz Grey, and Rose Gold- a color associated with most Apple's devices as well. Asus Chairman Jonney Shih also revealed that the Asus ZenBook 3 will have an aluminium alloy body that weighed less than Apple's device and will run in a processor "two times faster than MacBook."
Hardware Specs
The ZenBook 3 also boasts a decent hardware specs. The newest addition to Asus' roster of laptops will feature the highest screen-to-body ratio of 82 percent. The laptop measures 11.9 millimeter with a 12.5inch, gorilla glass coated screen. The ZenBook 3 will also feature a glass covered trackpad with fingerprint reader which is compatible with Windows Hello and enables user to log into Windows 10 without having to type a password.
ZenBook 3 also includes a four-speaker Harman Kardon audio and a 3mm fan which apparently is the thinnest cooling system to date. The device's battery life is good for about nine hours with fast-charge technology.
Software Specs
Over at IFA 2016, Asus revealed that the new ZenBook 3 will have the latest Intel Corei7 Kaby Lake processor instead of the Skylake which was previously announced. It will also have a 16GB of 2133MHz RAM and up to 1TB PCIe SSD which can give users an impressive performance.
Asus ZenBook 3 price starts at around $2,220.99 and is expected to release soon.
