The future looks bleak for the fans of the ABC TV show "Mistresses" as the network has yet to announce its renewal for a fifth season.
A source reported that "Mistress" Season 5 is not likely to happen since there are no renewal orders yet. And given that its ratings have dropped significantly, the odds of having another season is pretty low.
Recently, actress Yunjin Kim who plays the role of Dr. Karen Kim in the series has announced that if there will be a fifth season, she would not be part of it anymore. The news, however, did not surprise the viewers as the season finale showed a funeral for her character.
Fans are quick to theorize that Karen's ashes never arrived at her brother's house might mean that she is still alive. Furthermore, another woman who was dressed like her was shown approaching April and then introduced herself as Karen Kim which shocked a lot of fans.
The cliffhanger will surely leave fans frustrated if ABC will not renew "Mistresses" for a season 5. And fans are hoping that they won't be left to sit around and what wonder how it would have turned out.
A 15% ratings drop from the third season's average will give the network something to think about. Despite airing behind highly watched shows like "The Bachelorette" and "Bachelor in Paradise," "Mistresses" just does not seem to perform as expected.
Fans can only hope that ABC will not pull a plug that abruptly, and maybe they were just holding it off so more fans will clamor for the show. ABC hopefully gives "Mistresses" another year just so the fans can have closure.
It is too early to tell and fans and viewers will just have to wait for ABC's renewal announcement.
