Pokemon Sun and Moon: Alola Variations Revealed

It's been months since the release of Pokemon Go, inevitably changing the gaming scene as we know it, and Nintendo has kept the Pokemon hype alive by announcing their release of Pokemon Sun and Moon.

Despite its exclusivity for the Nintendo 3DS, both fiercely loyal long-term fans and new fawns have clamored for more updates about what to expect from the game.

The perks of having a new region means the Pokemon that fans have come to know and love have adapted to the Alola life, and therefore possess new variations not only to their look but also to their types.

Some of the few fan favorites are Vulpix, and its evolved form Ninetails, both of which are well-known aggressive Fire-type Pokemon. In the newfound Alola Region however, these Pokemon are graceful Ice types. Not only that, Ninetails seems to have become a Pokemon hybrid as an Ice/Fairy type. Another variation are Sandshrew and Sandslash, changing from Ground types to Ice/Steel types. The newest information from Nintendo states that the changes are due to the harsh cold of the mountainous regions of the Alola Region.

Rattata and Raticate have become Dark/Normal types and have a specific new ability called Gluttony. Raichu is now an Electric/Psychic type and features a new ability called Surge Surfer, which lets it surf on its tail as its signature attack.

The Alola Exeggutor has more noticeable changes as it possesses an elongated neck and a fourth head on its tail. Details say the fourth head allows it to defend its lower body from low attacks. Aside from being larger, Exeggutor is now a Grass/Dragon type, from being originally a Grass/Psychic type.

The lovable Meowth transitioned from Normal to Dark and Cubone's evolved form, Marowak is now a Fire/Ghost type.

Along with these variations people can expect more from the new Nintendo 3DS game. Nintendo just recently released their new characters: members of the Aether Foundation - a foundation that heals hurt Pokemon. Nintendo has also revealed the mysterious presence of Ultra-Beasts, but so far only a glass-like jellyfish named UB-01 has been introduced by the company, keeping fans still on the edge of their seats.
