The upcoming Nintendo Wii U may pack some awesome surprises for all you “Call of Duty” fans out there. According to a Nintendo executive, Treyarch and Infinity Ward have the opportunity to enhance the “Call of Duty” experience by using the Wii U's tablet-style GamePad.
As per Scott Moffitt, a marketing executive at Nintendo, America, Nintendo wants to sell to a core audience and the Wii U controller can give studios new ways to think about game design.
"Core gamers are very much part of our audience and the group of consumers we hope will find the way you can re-imagine games on the Wii U," Moffitt told GameSpot in an interview. “The Wii U could become the preferred way to play those games for some of the core gamers."
"You can imagine how a game like Call of Duty would work on the Wii U - the GamePad will allow you to declutter the TV and pull gaming items like maps down and not interrupt your interaction and enjoy the cinematic quality of the game on the TV,” he further added. "That's one application that could be exciting and could enhance gameplay for a core gamer."
Moffitt is also excited about the head start the company will have over the next-gen Xbox and PlayStation, and said that it will allow Nintendo to make a bold innovation and shape the future of gaming as they would like to shape it.
The Nintendo Wii U is set to hit the store shelves during the holidays this year.
