It's been months since the famous game development company BioWare has confirmed the release date of their highly anticipated addition to their Mass Effect franchise: Mass Effect Andromeda. The number of details that has been revealed through both official and leaked sources is surprising despite BioWare and publisher Electronic Arts showing just enough footage to tease followers of the game. They showed a brief footage of the game during Sony's 2016 "Playstation Meeting."
What To Expect?
Mass Effect Andromeda will be more than four times the size of the previous game, Mass Effect 3, and will feature hundreds of seamlessly connected solar systems. The game will follow a new hero named Ryder, officially putting a close to Commander Shepard's chapters, as Andromeda takes place after his defense of Earth against the Reapers.
Andromeda will not revolve around Earth anymore but will rather venture forth, above and beyond, in search for humanity's new home. Ryder is reportedly a novice explorer set to the task of discovering a suitable new planet for humanity around Andromeda galaxy's Helius cluster.
Romance and Relationship
BioWare has been known to incorporate interesting romance and relationship conquests throughout their Mass Effect games, but during E3 2016, Walters cited the system as an area the team hopes to improve on as the previous ability to initiate a romantic relationship through finishing loyalty missions and key events was "somewhat formulaic in the way we presented them." Walters added they are trying to look for more organic ways to have those relationships evolve.
Leaks and Rumors
A Reddit leak mentioned two of the Tempest crew that will help Ryder on his quest. A Krogan named "Drack" and a rumored part of the Asari race named "Cora." Mass Effect Andromeda will also introduce two new races - "Remnant" and "Khet."
What else?
BioWare is also holding a Mass Effect contest to find new voice actors for the game. Fans can now film themselves performing the Mass Effect Dialogue available from the BioWare website.
Mass Effect is said to hit the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC on March 2017.
