‘South Park’ Season 20 Episode 1 Recap: National Anthem Controversy, Mr. Garrison In The Campaign Trail And More

“South Park” Season 20 recently made its debut with a humorous jumpstart in episode 1 titled “Member Berries.”

With their signature comical brilliance and rough language, the featured topics are but canny and timely.

Breaking off the walls of excitement is “South Park’s” funny version of Colin Kaepernick’s national anthem protest as the US government signed up J.J. Abrams to save the country by rebooting the national anthem. In addition, South Park Elementary is being terrorized by an online troll codenamed as skankhunt42, who is saying nasty things about women. As a sign of objection, they decided to sit down during the playing of the national anthem.Revealing their views on the current political issues, the spoilers did stay true that Trey Parker and Matt Stone will be using the "tug-of-war" between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

Mr. Garrison (Giant Douche) is seen with running mate Caitlyn Jenner, running for president against Clinton (Turd Sandwich). When he learned that he’s leading the race, he came into a realization that he actually has no clue about running the country. Finally, Garrison decides he has to do everything to ensure Sandwich’s victory.

“You’re telling me we’re about to be voted into office and we have no idea what the f*** we’re gonna do?”

There you go Mr. Garrison, flaunting your confusion and irony in a confident way.

Meanwhile, we couldn’t agree less with IGN’s delight with the conception of “member berries.” The plain view of talking berries acts as a witty reminder that our culture is saturated with media.

“South Park” is good at pulling together significant topics that are not related. The delivery stirs crazy antics yet the animated sitcom managed to entertain the viewers.

I remember we were in the room [for the 19th season], and the big news was Caitlyn Jenner. And I was like: "Things have changed, dude. I don't think we can do a Caitlyn Jenner show. I think we would get run out of town. We try to come in every season with a new attitude, like this is what makes this season different than last season," showrunner Parker recalled in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
