NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Specs Possibly Leaked

The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 is the top GPU from Nvidia right now. PC gamers would go through lengths to get Nvidia's top graphics card. Most gamers, however, also know that at some point, an even better one would come out soon. Now there are rumors that the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is coming and that its possible specs have been released.

The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is not due to come out yet. Possibly it might come out in early 2017, at CES on January 2017, as noted by PC Gamer. While people wait for it, there are rumors of its specs already being out. A forum from Overclock3D is said to have leaked the specs of the new GPU coming from Nvidia.

The coming GeForce GTX 1080 Ti would be impressive in some ways. There are already comparisons being made to the Titan X, an impressive GPU in itself. The GTX 1080 Ti would be faster than the Titan X, having a base speed of 1,503MHz and a boost speed of 1,623MHz. However, it will only have 52 streaming multiprocessor units, as compared to the Titan X's 56.

The Titan X has an advantage in that it more memory bandwidth. It uses 12 GB on GDDR5X memory as opposed to the GTX 1080 Ti that will only use GDDR5 memory. This portion though is where the leak becomes doubtful, according to the Vine Report. The GTX 1080 has been using the better GDDR5X chip for it. It would be strange for Nvidia to downgrade the GTX 1080 Ti to a lower type of memory chip.

There is a possibility that more leaks would be coming out. Right now what people have are speculations as to what would be the specs of the GTX 1080 Ti. Nvidia will not likely release its specs yet while its release date is still a bit far. While people wait, speculations will come and more speculated specs will likely appear as well.

There are more speculations on the way for gamers, such as the latest report on the Nintendo NX on iTechPost.
