NBA Trade Rumors: DeMarcus Cousins To Replace Kobe Bryant As Lakers’ Top Player?

Sacramento Kings’ DeMarcus Cousins has been a household name in the rumor mill. With a stellar credential that earned him as the best center in the NBA, which team would not want him for a blockbuster deal?

Recently, the Sacramento All-Star is being linked to Los Angeles Lakers and is forecasted to be the team’s next top player, following the departure of the basketball legend Kobe Bryant.

With the Lakers’ preparations for the upcoming season, they are likely to bet an ideal deal in Cousin’s inclusion in their roster. Bryant’s retirement is undoubtedly a big loss for the purple and gold squad but they can manage to bring back their winning glory. Fans can rest assured that they have a bunch of superstars that will remarkably help them reach the finals, better yet to nab the much coveted title again.

They may have a promising lineup of players composed of Jordan Clarkson, Brandon Ingram, Larry Nance Jr., Julius Randle and D’Angelo Russell and but their talents are not competitive enough to ensure victory on their end.

Having a powerful team like the Golden State Warriors featuring Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson has a great potential in leading the race. The Lakers are clearly behind as of the moment but they can still catch up.

Both teams have not yet expressed their thoughts about the possibility of this trade but the Kings can take into consideration the famous icons in the basketball industry that the Lakers have produced. Aside from Bryant, they have collaborated with big men Shaquille O’Neal,Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, and James Worthy.

Cousins may not highly benefit in the Lakers in the initial phase of working with them, should he agree in the future but he can build a brand and a legacy in his name considering his excellent playing skills.
