The fourth season of "Orange is the New Black" gave us the mother of all cliff hangers as its ending. The last scene ended with Daya (Dascha Polanco) taking up a gun against the head of hated Correctional Officer Thomas Humphrey (Michael Torpey).
A lot of fans wondered whether Daya will end up shooting the officer or will she be stopped just in time.
Daya's character had greatly changed since her mother Aleida was released in the season 4 of "Orange is the New Black." Even though Mendoza promised to Aleida that she will keep Daya safe in prison, it seems though that Daya has some other plans of her own.
She seemed to have a lot going on in her life during the season. Aside from her mother not being with her in prison, she suffered the loss of her baby and the love of her life, Officer Bennett is nowhere to be found. Add to that, the mistreatment they are experiencing from the officers had really taken its toll.
In "Orange is the New Black" season 5, fans are expecting that if Daya decides not to kill or shoot Correctional Officer Thomas Humphrey, she will have to face the consequences. She is expected to be sent to the Special Housing Unit which is the most dreaded solitary confinement in Litchfield.
Rumor has it that Correctional Officer Bennett (Matt McGrory) whom Daya had a relationship with and got pregnant in the process, will come back on the "Orange is the New Black" season 5.
Officer Bennett will have to play the hero and save Daya in solitary confinement and possibly rekindle their love affair. However, some fans think that this will go against the reality of prison that the show is trying to portray.
Fans will have to speculate until "Orange and the New Black" airs sometime in 2017.
