A flagship to flagship phone comparison has always been an interesting topic for many smartphone fans, especially when an Apple iPhone is involved. Considering how much of a 'royalty' the iPhone has become, it's great to see a few other brands beat it in some aspects.
Of course, the iPhone has become a well-known royal smartphone for unbiased reasons, but still, it's great to see that there are devices that are at par with Apple's flagship, one of which is the LG V20. Comparing it to the iPhone 7 Plus actually proves that both phones are really strong contenders for 2016's smartphone market.
LG V20 VS iPhone 7 Plus, Body
The LG V20 and the iPhone 7 Plus aren't too far away from each other when it comes to size, and the iPhone 7 Plus is just about 15g heavier than the LG V20. However, the iPhone 7 Plus boasts of its water resistant body and Apply Pay feature. The LG V20 isn't exactly water resistant, CNET reports, so it could be a downer for some users. However, it is shock proof, which makes it a good option for users with active lifestyle.
LG V20 VS iPhone 7 Plus, Display
Basically, it's all about LG V20's 5.7-inch IPS LCD display with 513 pixels per inch resolution versus Apple iPhone 7 Plus' 5.5-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD display with 410 pixels per inch resolution. Needless to say, the LG V20 has an impeccable display resolution that can beat many other competitions aside from the iPhone 7 Plus.
For added display features, both the iPhone 7 Plus and the LG V20 have something to offer. The iPhone boasts of its Display Zoom and 3D Touch Display, while the LG V20 still has its iconic 2.1-inch secondary display.
LG V20 VS iPhone 7 Plus, Internal Specs
The LG V20 runs Android Nougat while the iPhone 7 Plus runs iOS 10.0.1. The LG phone comes with 32/64 GB storage options, 4 GB RAM and 256 GB microSD storage capacity. The iPhone 7 Plus, on the other hand, has no MicroSD slot and comes with 3 GB RAM and 32/128/256 GB internal storage options. While most iOS users are already used to the lack of an external storage option, many users still complain about eventually lacking storage. This is one of the biggest weaknesses of iPhones. Luckily, Apple now removed the 16 GB variant from the new iPhones. Hopefully, this will lessen the complaints regarding minimal storage.
LG V20 VS iPhone 7 Plus, Cameras
Both the LG V20 and the iPhone 7 Plus come with dual rear cameras. Both devices also boasts of being able to capture good photos. It was said that the iPhone 7 Plus can capture DSLR-quality photos, and the LG V20 also offers great results. For the front cameras, the LG V20 only has a 5 MP selfie shooter while the iPhone 7 Plus has a 7 MP snapper.
Conclusions
Needless to say, both devices are superb and high standard. Both devices did not settle for less and offer high-quality usage. Sure there are issues about the lack of a 3.5 mm jack on the iPhone 7 Plus, but that would be an argument about embracing change and not about quality. The LG V20, on the other hand, may not be the most popular option for many, but it sure is a good choice despite being underrated. Besides, if the V series isn't good enough, it could have ended with the LG V10.
