No More Assassin's Creed For Now, According To Ubisoft

It seems like Ubisoft is taking some huge pointers from their latest Assassin's Creed titles with a number of these series installments unfortunately not hitting the mark. As effect on their end, they are currently looking at development issues, tackling them one by one.

Fans were already concerned about it when Ubisoft made known to all that they would be releasing yearly franchises of Assassin's Creed. The concerns were also quickly felt by the company when they were plagued by bugs in Assassin's Creed: Unity which, later, Ubisoft apologized to players and amended with free DLC packs. For a lot of gamers, this is pure evidence of quick development disadvantages as reported by Frag Hero.

Why stop the yearly Assassin's Creed release?

In an interview, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot talks about the changes of their development tactics. The result: there won't be any Assassin's Creed title rolling out anytime soon, or at least the yearly target will not be hit. As quoted:

"What we saw in the development of the next [Assassin's Creed] was that we had an opportunity to take it to another level. So we said we'll take all the time it takes to make the experience fantastic. It was feasible because we have other games. There's a huge potential in this game to revolutionize the IP, so we said, 'Let's make sure we change our model so we have more time and that we can bring back a greater experience.'"

Obviously not making the previous mistakes again, the change - though missing the yearly release target, is very much welcomed by the gaming community. More time to polish would most probably mean a better outcome of the game. Changing the development strategy would make Assassin's Creed glorious once again.

When will the next title be out?

Concerning the release date, all the CEO had to say was it will be rolled out "when it's ready". "That's when we feel we have something there," Guillemot adds.

With no confirmed date, it is speculated that Assassin's Creed fans will expect late 2017 the earliest, which again, doesn't concern a lot of people but would surely welcome the game when it's back in action.

Below is the latest Assassin's Creed trailer titled Assassin's Creed: Syndicate. It will be awhile before we can see another trailer like this one.
