Apple has recently come out with the iPhone 7, and people are wondering what else would be coming from the company this year. Many are speculating about the 2016 iMac and what's in store for Apple's all-in-one desktop computer.
One of the rumors involving the new 2016 iMac is that it will be using Intel's new Kaby Lake processor. This would be the new generation of Intel processors after the current Skylake processors. According to MNR Daily the new Kaby Lake processor will offer newer capabilities.
Another rumor surrounding the coming 2016 iMac is that it will be using AMD's Radeon RX series of graphics cards for it. The International Business Times says that AMD might bring a highly advanced Polaris-based GPU to the iMac. It is not certain though if this graphics card would be integrated into the motherboard or would be separate from it.
Along with the speculation about the 2016 iMac using AMD graphics cards, it is said that the computer will have VR support as well. VR is gaining in popularity and a number of PCs already offer VR support. For Apple, this would be a significant step for the iMac as it has not been exactly known to be a gaming machine. Having VR support indicates that Apple might be considering the iMac to have gaming capabilities.
As for storage, it's rumored that the 2016 iMac might have fusion drives. Another rumor speculates that Apple might be considering flash drive for it. The flash drive is said to be the standard storage for the iMac. LG is being tapped as well for its monitor, as it is said that Apple is considering a monitor that can support 5K resolution.
As with any rumor, it remains to be seen whether these would be verified. Apple doesn't leak much about its products before release; thus, all people have as of now are speculations. What might be speculated might not necessarily be what's on the product once it comes out. Despite this, many are still excited about what the iMac will have and whether any of the said features, and possibly more, would be seen on its release.
