iPhone 8 And iPhone 8 Plus Rumors: What We Know So Far?

After the recent launch of Apple's flagship iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, all the interest of tech experts and consumers alike turned to the next iPhones, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus expected to come on the market in 2017.

iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Leaks

According to BGR, the manufacturer of Android smartphones, Xiaomi, is usually copying everything Apple does. The Chinese company just unveiled outside the U.S. its latest flagship smartphones featuring a sleek design and killer specs.

The two new smartphones are the Xiaomi Mi 5s and Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus. One of the most interesting fact is that the flagship Xiaomi devices come with one of the hottest new features expected to be included by Apple in its next year's new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Both new Xiaomi smartphones come with similar designs, an all-metal body and a new under-glass ultrasonic fingerprint reader.

Apple New Phones' Name

According to the website pocket-lint.com, Apple's next iPhones should be traditionally called the iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus. However, due to the fact that they will be anniversary models, most of the analysts believe that Apple will skip the incremental upgrade models and move straight to iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.

Release Date Of Apple's iPhone 8 And iPhone 8 Plus

While last year's models, the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus debuted on September 9, 2015, Apple launched both the Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus on September 7, 2016. Both Apple launch events were two days after Labor Day in the U.S. and both were on a Wednesday.

Next year, the Labor Day will be on 4 September. It is believed that, if Apple would follow the same release pattern, the next iPhones 8 and iPhone 8 Plus could be announced on Wednesday, September 6, 2017.

Design Of The iPhone 8 And iPhone 8 Plus

There have been speculations and rumors about an all-glass design that will be implemented by Apple in the upcoming iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. The 10th anniversary iPhone could also feature a premium ceramic finish.

Previous reports suggested that the 2017 iPhone will come with a total redesign, looking very different to the iPhone 7. Jony Ive, Apple's design chief, said that the iPhone will look like "a single sheet of glass."

The Touch ID fingerprint sensor in the upcoming iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be built into the display. Tech analysts also expect that the stereo speakers to remain intact and the headphone jack to remain missing. On the rear of at least one of the upcoming iPhone devices, it is also expected that Apple will implement a dual-lens setup.

iPhone 8 And iPhone 8 Plus Display

The Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are expected to keep the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screen sizes. To go larger would cross into iPad Mini territory and to go smaller would cross the iPhone SE's territory.

For the 2017 iPhone models, Apple is allegedly considering a curved, edge-to-edge OLED screen. Over the last couple of years curved displays on smartphones have become popular.

The next year's devices will certainly include 3D touch in some form too. Some tech experts also speculate that probably we might see Apple Pencil compatibility in at least on the Plus model.

Hardware In Apple iPhone 8 And iPhone 8 Plus

Most tech experts agree that the new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus devices from Apple will come with a new processor called the A11 Fusion. The next-generation Apple mobile processor will feature an embedded M11 motion coprocessor.

The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are expected to come with the same storage capacity as the current models iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. This means the upcoming 2017 iPhone models will offer 32 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB storage capacity options.
