ASUS X99 Deluxe-II Motherboard First Look

The type of processor one would buy would depend on the motherboard one chooses. Many gamers also look for a motherboard that would be durable and can take on the latest games. ASUS has come out with one such motherboard in the X99 Deluxe-II.

The ASUS X99 Deluxe-II follows the successful X99 Deluxe, as HardwareCanucks reports. It is one motherboard that has many features. Gamers will be more than pleased to find it has five PCI-E x16 slots.

Additionally, there is one PCI-E x1 slot. Meanwhile, for those who can't get enough of USB ports, the X99 Deluxe-II has more than enough USB ports to satisfy them.

ASUS has fitted the X99 motherboard with three USB 3.1 Type-A ports and one USB 3.1 Type-C port. It also has four USB 3.0 ports and four USB 2.0/3.0 headers. That's more than enough for those who would want to put in a lot of peripherals and accessories to their rig.

For connectivity, the X99 Deluxe-II has two Intel Gigabit LAN ports. It also has a Thunderbolt 3.0 header and dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi. It supports Bluetooth v.40 as well. For RAM it has a lot to offer, as it can support up to 128 GB of DDR4. That is a lot both for gaming and other uses the PC might have.

TweakTown notes that ASUS has included many accessories for the X99 Deluxe-II. Included with the package are eight SATA 6GB/S cables, a 3T3R dual band Wi-Fi antenna and RGB extension cable. Also included is a 2-way/3-way SLI bridge, fan extension card and fan extension cable. The package also has a support DVD, Thunderbolt EX3 card and Thunderbolt EX3 cable.

In order for the X99 Deluxe-II to handle the weight of additional graphics cards, the four PCI-E x16 slots have been reinforced with steel. ASUS calls such slots as SafeSlots, as Tom's Hardware notes.

Motherboards now feature RGB LED lighting, and the ASUS X99 Deluxe-II is no exception. It has ASUS's Aura lighting feature, which is onboard RGB LED lighting controlled by software for different lighting patterns.

For gamers, the ASUS X99 Deluxe-II delivers with its many features and accessories. It has more than enough of these for most gamers. It should be one motherboard that would last for a long time, especially for gamers who would want to "future proof" their rigs.
