An iPhone 7 Plus is reported to explode while on its way to its owner. Now, consumers are asking. Is this an echo of the problems that happened first with Samsung's Galaxy Note 7?
Earlier reports of the new Samsung's phablet, the Galaxy Note 7, made the news with several reports of it exploding. Now, a report of an iPhone 7 Plus exploding while on its way to its owner is catching the web like a wildfire. Apple is a smartphone brand known for its solid hardware so news of the new iPhone 7 exploding while still inside its box made viral news on the web.
The Reddit user, "kroopthesnoop", posted several photos of the exploded iPhone 7 Plus. The photo looked scary with the phone looking like it was set on fire, exploded and burnt the packaging where it came in. News of the iPhone 7 Plus suddenly exploding while on its way to its owner spread out like wildfire and hit the web faster than expected.
Does the iPhone 7 has the same battery problems as the Note 7?
Consumers now fear that the iPhone 7 has the same problem just like the Galaxy Note 7 - it has overheated batteries.
According to the owner who posted the photos, the incident might have happened between the factory and the delivery. Something wrong might have happened between shipments. Smartphone batteries are generally safe, but they can also be dangerous. Exploding batteries or the phone catching fire is usually caused by punctured batteries, a possible cause as to why the iPhone 7 exploded.
The Reddit user added that his coworker found the exploded matte black iPhone 7 as is out of the box. He also posted several updates on the steps Apple has taken to address the problem of the exploded iPhone 7.
Right now, there is no need for a global recall yet given the isolated nature of the report.
