Thomas Gibson To Exit 'Criminal Minds' Season 12 As Character Aaron Hotchner Dies On Upcoming Episode

After it has been announced that Thomas Gibson will no longer be a series regular for the "Criminal Minds" season 12, it has been reported that his last appearance in the series will be in the upcoming second episode of the season.

Thomas Gibson To Make His Exit From "Criminal Minds" In The Upcoming Episode 2 Of Season 12

It can be recalled that actor Thomas Gibson who plays Aaron Hotchner on the famous police procedural crime drama "Criminal Minds" has been fired from the show as a series regular. He had an altercation with one of the producers of the show and was suspended thereafter. However, it was announced the next day that he has already been fired since this isn't the first time that he has been involved in such dispute.

Since production has already started when it happened, the actor's character was still present during the season 12 premiere of "Criminal Minds" recently. However, there have been reports that he will be making his grand exit on the show by his character dying. After Shemar Moore's exit last season, this has been the next sudden exit on the show.

New Characters To Be Added to Season 12 Of "Criminal Minds"

A new character has already been added during the season 12 premiere of "Criminal Minds," actor Adam Rodriguez playing the role of Luke Alvez. In addition to that, one of the series regular in the past seasons, Paget Brewster will be coming back to the show again as Emily Prentiss which has excited the fans despite losing two of their favourite characters.

Aside from Adam Rodriguez, another character will also be added in replacement of Thomas Gibson, actor Damon Gupton who will portray the role of SSA Agent Stephen Walker. He has worked with the Behavioral Analysis Program and will be joining the BAU team and will be using his own set of skills to help the team in catching serial killers.

Gupton will be making his first appearance in the later part of the season and his presence will hopefully make a great impact to the team and the show as well. There is no way to tell whether or not the loss of major characters will be the make or break of "Criminal Minds."
