How long ago did you make wireless payment over NFC from you smartphone? Well, truth be told, most of you are yet to make a wireless payment, and although Google Wallet has been around for some time, most of its capabilities have been marred due to the limited support from carriers.
But everything is about to change and you may think about giving that mobile wallet of yours a second chance. Google has just announced that a software update will be pushed to the Nexus 7, which will bring the Google Wallet app to the device.
“We're excited to announce that an update is being pushed to Nexus 7 to allow you to use the Google Wallet app on the device. If you're carrying this thin, ultraportable tablet in your backpack or purse, you can now tap, pay and save with Google Wallet,” stated the official Google Wallet page on Google+.
Although this looks to be the same 4.1.1 OTA update that the Google I/O tablets received, it is a great news nonetheless because it means both are now running the exact same OS version.
As mentioned in the post, the update “is being pushed,” and you got to remember to keep a lookout for it as it will arrive soon. We are still uncertain as to which devices can officially carry Google Wallet, but Nexus 7 users, among others, should feel good.
