Since its hiatus last April, fans of "Vikings" have been speculating a lot of theories about the series. There have been spoilers as well but speculations never seem to stop as the second half of the 4th season draws near. One assumption that has been passed around between fans is that Lagertha might actually become the new queen of Kattegat.
The San Diego Comic Con held last July revealed an all new trailer of the series and confirmed that there was evident hostility between Lagertha and Queen Aslaug. To recap, episode 10 showed hints of tension between Lagertha and Queen Aslaug, leaving the former wounded after a battle. It is speculated that these two powerful women will battle it out for the throne and that Lagertha is most likely to win. Lagertha believes the throne is rightfully hers as she is the first wife of the King, Ragnar Lothbrok. Meanwhile, Queen Aslaug remains firm and refuses to give up the title. She plans to rule even after Ragnar's death.
Also during the San Diego Comic Con, actress Katheryn Winnick, who plays the role of Lagertha, said that her character will be making a strong comeback and that there will indeed be an intense battle for the throne of which everyone should look out for. But she also pointed out that it is too soon to make up speculations as there will be considerable lapse of time between episodes 10 and 11 of the 4th season. It should be noted that episode 11 will be set six years later after the events that took place in the 10th episode. Despite the years, the loathing for Queen Aslaug remains intact.
After reading the speculation above, do you think Lagertha might actually become queen and if she does, does she have what it takes to rule alongside Ragnar? Vikings Season 4 is stated to resume on November 30, 2016.
