'Longmire' News And Update: Season 6 Premieres In 2017; Love And Intrigue Arise Between Waltmire And Vic Moretti

Contrary to rumors of cancellation, Longmire Season 6 has been confirmed by the show's writer and main cast, Craig Johnson. Season 6 is set to pick up where it left off plus the blooming romance between Waltmire and Vic Moretti.

It can be remembered that the show was rumored to be canceled due to unstable ratings but the series already has a loyal fan-base and have received many positive reviews which are enough for the show to have another season.

Nancy DeWolf Smith of The Wall Street Journal reviewed the show as "The best of two worlds: a modern crime drama with wit and sometimes heart-wrenching emotion that's also got a glorious setting under the big sky of Wyoming," Without the modern conveniences in the show such as the trucks and cellphones, the show looked like it was in 1875 "so rugged and unspoilt does the scenery look" she added.

Aside from the developing relationship between the sheriff and his deputy, Donna has been given a graceful exit with the kidnap story. Meanwhile, more intrigues and drama is expected in the upcoming season especially since Vic is expected to be pregnant. The relationship between the 2 sheriffs will not be easy, particularly with the challenges they have to face as they continue solving crimes.

The first four seasons of "Longmire" was aired in A & E before Netflix picked it up in 2014. Now fans will not only be able to watch new episodes of the series but also get to watch all the previous episodes on their site. It is based on "Walt Longmire Mysteries" series of book by best-selling author Craig Johnson. The series was developed by Hunt Baldwin and John Coveny. The show focuses on the life of Walt Longmire, a county sheriff who goes back to work in investigating major crimes after the death of his wife.
