Yomawari: Night Alone is a soon-to-be released 2D Japanese horror game on the PS Vita yet it is already giving those who have tried its demo play quite a few scares. Looking at the first few minutes of its gameplay shows players why it is indeed a source of goosebumps.
Yomawari: Night Alone features a cute little girl walking her dog around town at night. But players should not be fooled by the game as its first two minutes already revealed some blood and gore. This, of course, depends on the action the player will choose for the character to make.
For example, the main character of Yomawari: Night Alone threw a stone on the road for her dog to fetch. As the dog ran to fetch the item, a speeding truck passed and ran over the dog leaving blood splattering on the pavement.
The girl, then, went home pulling the leash without the dog as if nothing happened. When the girl's sister asked her where the dog is, she did not say anything. The sister assuming the dog had ran away, decided to look for it. The little girl did not say anything and let her sister go. After a while when her sister did not yet return, she started out looking for her and that's where the horror begins.
From the start of Yomawari: Night Alone game, there might be some questions regarding the motive of the character which was the main reason why all the events started. But since fear is the main theme of the game, it does not say so. Perhaps, it will be revealed as the game progresses.
As for the fear factor of Yomawari: Night Alone, the music, effects, and graphics all contributed to the general feel of the theme. Even the main character's behavior is in itself scary. Like the game's character, players should get ready and close their eyes before the monster gets them.
