"The Punisher" has been confirmed to have his solo series on Netflix after he made his debut on the second season of "Daredevil," and now production for the upcoming new series has already begun.
"The Punisher" Confirmed To Be A Spin-Off Series Of Marvel's "Daredevil"
Jon Bernthal's portrayal as "The Punisher" during his appearance on "Daredevil" has made such a great impact to the audience that now he is even getting his own show. Marvel announced the spin-off series to center on his character just shortly after he made an appearance on the other Marvel series from Netflix.
When Bernthal appeared on "Daredevil," he was introduced as a former soldier whose family was murdered in an operation gone wrong that involved gangs. This then started his vengeance against gangs, which made him earn the name of being a vigilante called "The Punisher."
Jon Bernthal Not Available To Join The New York Comic Con Due To Filming Schedule
It has also been confirmed that Bernthal wouldn't be joining the New York Comic Con this month, thus started the speculations that he may have already started filming for "The Punisher." It was initially thought that the actor couldn't join the panel due to a conflict with his filming schedule that could probably just mean he is filming for yet another appearance in "Daredevil."
After all what used to be just mere allegations, it has then been confirmed that production for the upcoming series has indeed already started. The actor was spotted filming wherein he wore an all-black wardrobe, and a beard along with it that has made the spotters conclude that he was in fact filming as "The Punisher."
Working Title For "The Punisher" Confirmed To Be Named "Crime"
The working title for "The Punisher" has also already been revealed to be "Crime." As vague as it may sound, it just fit perfectly well given the history of his character and the manner of how he chooses to amend his vengeance towards his parents' death.
Since production of the film has just recently started, its release date wasn't confirmed yet but it has been speculated that "The Punisher" will air in Netflix on 2017.
