Samsung has just been the center of attention as its newly released Galaxy Note 7 was subject to a massive recall due to exploding batteries that catch fire. The end of the problem seems to be still a distant thing as the company again suffered another Galaxy Note 7 catching fire incident.
According to a statement released by a Southwest Airlines spokesperson to The Verge, the passengers and crew of the Southwest Airlines plane vacated the plane after a Galaxy Note 7 was seen to be smoking in the plane.
What makes the incident worse is that the phone that caught smoke was a phone that was already replaced after it was recalled by Samsung. Brian Green was the owner of the Galaxy Note 7 and claims to say that he has just picked it up from an AT&T store last September 21.
Another Disastrous Galaxy Note 7 Incident for Samsung
The owner said that his phone was turned off as what was requested by the flight crew. Green then dropped it on the floor and then suddenly a "thick grey-green angry smoke" started emerging from the device. The Galaxy Note 7 battery was roughly at 80 percent battery when the smoking incident happened. He also was using a wireless charger ever since he got the device.
This just makes the already horrific situation that Samsung is currently in even worse. Despite a massive worldwide recall was done and the phones were already replaced, it still seems to be a fire hazard. The Galaxy Note 7 of Brian Green is now under the custody of the Louisville Fire Department's arson unit for investigation purposes.
Further investigations will also be done by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. To put an end to his unending ordeal with Galaxy Note 7 phones, Brian Green now uses an iPhone 7.
