Guess Windows Phone 8 will not be confined to Nokia alone. As per the latest reports, Samsung has revealed at least two potential Windows Phone 8 devices in court documents this week, which were submitted as a part of the Apple vs. Samsung trial.
Codenamed Odyssey and Marco, the phones boast Windows Phone 8 and they are powered by Qualcomm’s MSM8960 SoC, clocked at 1.5GHz. Whereas the Odyssey will sport a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED screen of HD resolution, as well as an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera accompanied by a 2MP front-facer, the Marco will be the lesser of the two offerings, with a 4-inch Super AMOLED of 800 x 480 pixel resolution, and a 5MP main camera alongside a 2MP front-facing one. Samsung has also confirmed NFC support for Odyssey. Moreover, as revealed by the Verge, both the devices will feature LTE, HSPA+ 21.
According to the documents, both phones should launch in the third or the fourth quarter. However, it is worth noting that they could just be design concepts that will never find their way to market.
