Sony has released its list of the games that are not intended to be further upgraded. During the livestreamed event in New York recently, a group of games (which is compatible for the features of the recently released PS4 Pro) were shown. PS4 Pro's latest feature guarantees that these games can be played in a 4K resolution. It is integrated with more graphical effects, and have been designed to run at smoother frame rates.
Whether these games are played on 4K or 1080p displays, it can still benefit from these added features. There were a number of games that have PS4 Pro support features - which can be obtained through updates. There were also some games that have enhancements included inside of its box upon purchase. The benefits of the game from the upgraded hardware were not made clear yet. However, lead architect Mark Cerny revealed useful details regarding some of the games during the event. Here are the games that are confirmed to not have an upgrade patch for PS4:
Destiny - Maybe there will be an upgrade for this soon, as Gamespot reported.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - This game will be converted from a full HD game into a 4K game. Since this is a laborious upgrade, the developers have decided to not release the PS4 Pro edition of the Wild Hunt anymore. They could have made an upgrade about its features, so that it can be supported by PS4 Pro. But because the developers are focusing mainly on Cyberpunk 2077 and Gwent, they are not releasing its upgrade.
This report was according to CD Projekt Red. Maybe there is still a possibility for them to release this upgraded patch, but it is surely not coming immediately. On the other hand, game titles such as Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Paragon, The Witness, and Fallout 4 have already received an upgrade.
