The Apple vs. Samsung litigation is taking an interesting turncwith the Cupertino tech giant presenting a set of new evidences on the third day of the trial. The evidence apparently justifes Apple's claims that Samsung has indeed lifted its icon designs, used in iOS, and implemented them on its TouchWiz interface.
A CNET report claimed that Apple has provided a series of six photographs comprising comparisons between phone, music, contacts, photos, notes, and settings icons.
Apple accused that "Samsung is also infringing Apple's icon trademarks by advertising and selling a wide variety of products using confusingly similar icons. The icons on these products were intentionally designed to look like Apple's icons and infringe Apple's trademark rights".
Samsung's lawyers, however, acknowledged that Apple's products "inspired" the company's designers but argued that its handsets are different than that of Apple's iPhones in many other ways.
Apple filed a patent suit last year against the Korean tech giant, accusing them of imitating Apple's intellectual property used for the iPhone and iPad.
Samsung devices that are charged for using Apple's stolen icons include Captivate, Droid Charge, Epic 4G, Exhibit 4G, Galaxy S, Galaxy S 4G, the AT&T Edition 4G version of Galaxy S2, T-Mobile Galaxy S2, and Galaxy S II Skyrocket (4G LTE).
