HTC has announced the availability of Android 4.0.4 update for its flagship One X smartphone on Friday, Aug. 10.
"As part of our ongoing commitment to ensure customers are receiving software updates that improve their user experience, we are pleased to announce our next upgrade for the HTC One X will be released on August 10," said HTC in its statement.
As revealed by the company, along with the Android update, HTC One X has also received several updates via the over-the-air update, which arrived late Friday night.
"The primary update will include an upgrade to Android version 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich), in addition to an improved Sense experience which will: enable the ability to map menu function to the 'recent app' key (improving visual presentation in non ICS apps like Facebook); improve tab management in the browser with a dedicated tab switching button and enhance camera capabilities such as white balance and continuous autofocus," it explained.
Additionally, the update brings enhancements to memory, platform stability, and the overall browsing experience. The Taiwanese company has also improved the Beats audio and introduced a multi-tasking grid inside the Sense UI. Users will now have to press the key for a longer period of time to open the multitasking menu.
"From a developer perspective, we are expanding SDK support for Media Link and providing a framework for video call applications to achieve improved performance and quality," announced HTC.
Meanwhile, HTC hasn't had an impressive year as far as sales and market share are concerned. The company reported a massive decline in profit and revenue in Q2. The company's quarterly revenue was $3.04 billion U.S., 26.8 percent down from the previous year. Both gross and operating margins have also declined 25 percent and seven percent, respectively.
