This 2017, Apple is planning to drastically redesign the upcoming iPhone 8 to mark its 10-year anniversary. Rumors have been going on about a new iPhone sans the Home Button, a full glass body with an edge-to-edge OLED display, Touch ID fingerprint sensor and a stainless steel frame. For consumers who have already decided to buy the iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, waiting for Apple's iPhone 8 next year might be better.
A Drastic - Yet Impressive - Change For Apple
The next Apple flagship is not yet out on the market but there have been several rumors surrounding the iPhone 8 specs. One thing is for sure; the change would be impressive and radical for Apple's next flagship. It is believed that the Cupertino tech giant has decided to skip the "S" model for the iPhone 7, skipping the 7s. The next iPhone would probably be an iPhone 8 or "iPhone 10" to mark the flagship's anniversary.
Rumored iPhone 8 Specs To Look Forward To
So what awaits consumers if they wait for the next 2017 iPhone? MacRumors hinted that consumers should expect several new features like an OLED display, a full glass body that might look similar to the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s, an edge-to-edge display and the absence of the iconic Home Button. Consumers can also expect a Touch ID fingerprint sensor in place of the Home Button. The iPhone 8 is likely to use wireless charging and is faster thanks to a better A11 processor. More than that, Apple is also planning to produce three models of the new iPhone 8 - one available in OLED and two more in standard iPhone make.
Other predictions also include a "high-end" model of an iPhone 8 that will be larger with a 5.8-inch display compared to the iPhone 7 Plus' 5.5-inch screen size. The said high-end model is likely to use a stainless steel frame body too instead of the lighter aluminum metal. Of course, Apple already ditched the headphone jack on the iPhone 7 and Plus models so the iPhone 8 would be without it as well.
