FCC Document Indicates New ASUS Tablet in Making

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recently passed an upcoming ASUS tablet with a model number of TF500T.

As reported by Engadget, the FCC document reveals that the tablet will fall between the budget-friendly Transformer Pad TF300 and the high-end Transformer Pad Infinity TF700.

Additionally, the document suggests that the upcoming ASUS tablet will be Wi-Fi only and will feature a Tegra chip, an HDMI port, and a microphone. Additionally, like its counterparts, it may also come with ASUS' signature keyboard dock.

Last month, the Taiwanese tablet maker reported that in keeping with its key commitments to deliver the best user experience to its customers, the company will roll out the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS for many of its Android-based tablets.

As of now, Transformer Pad, Transformer Prime, and Transformer Pad Infinity tablets are scheduled to receive the Jelly Bean update "in the coming months." However, this update may only be the beginning as ASUS has also noted that the company is "still investigating Jelly Bean updates for other devices, but we are not in a position to confirm whether any other products will be eligible for an update at the moment."

The Taiwanese company also announced that Eee Pad Transformer and the Eee Pad Slider would not be getting Jelly Bean update.
