Square Enix has finally announced the location and release date of its finale for season one of Hitman. After several delays, fans will be very happy to know that their much-awaited game will not go down the drain but will live on. According to Square Enix, the finale will test all the skills the players acquired throughout the game in order to achieve his goal.
The announcement came with a Hitman trailer which showed Agent 47 is in Hokkaido. Evidence of that are the telling sub-locations which give players a clue where the action is taking place. One scene occurred at a Japanese onsen, or hot spring while another is at a sushi restaurant. There's also a scene where Agent 47 was wearing a red mask to blend in with the crowd.
Based on the trailer, the Hokkaido location can be likened to Hitman 1: Paris which is intricate and deep. It seems like the game is following the trend that it has started with subsequent episodes coming this season. Thus, players should expect that the Japan episode will not be the season to wrap up all loose ends of the game.
"The story's really only beginning. Season 1 is the first act in a feature film. You know all the characters, you know the stakes, you know the dilemma, but it's only getting started," lead writer Michael Vogt said.
Hitman was one of Square Enix's popular titles which was even turned into a live action movie twice. However, the latest Hitman was not as stellar as the previous ones that the game company had to delay it. But the game proved to be as persistent as its character, Agent 47, as it learned how to navigate through the disappointments it experienced and was instead touted as innovative.
Hitman Episode 6: Hokkaido will be released on October 31 on PC, PS4, and XBox One.
