Pokemon GO third party trackers have mostly stopped working due to Niantic's latest update. It is still possible though for Pokemon GO players can still hunt for Pokemons even without third party trackers.

Many Pokemon GO players were saddened when their favorite third party trackers such as PokeVision and FastPokeMap were put out of commission by Niantic's recent update. FPM developer promised that the tracking app will soon return to the game.

However, the dev admit that it might take at least two weeks before a working tracker could be made available. Even then, there is no guarantee that Niantic will not find a way to block the tracking app again, according to the bitbag.
Third Party Tracker's Dependence on Pokemon GO API
Third party trackers such as FPM can track down Pokemon because it has access to the game's API. Technically, Niantic did not totally block third party trackers from the API. However, it requires outside apps to answer Captcha security questions every time it wants to access the API.
This means that FPM can no longer have automatic access to the API since the Capcha has to be answered manually. This can be time consuming and will require a lot of manpower on the part of small app developers. FPM however, is trying to find an alternative for this captcha problem.

Pokemon GO has an in-game tracking feature. However, many are dissatisfied with it. Third party trackers that do not make use of the game's API are not affected by the Niantic block.
