Red Alert 2 is causing a panic attack among its fans worldwide after one fan discovered that it was gone in his Origin library. Investigating the disappearance, he took to Reddit to ask for help from the community only to discover that he was not alone.
The Reddit thread about the supposed missing Red Alert 2 Ultimate Edition games in their Origin library was just posted less than 24 hours ago but it has already acquired more than 5,000 replies with fans reporting similar incidents. To make matters worse, it's not just Red Alert 2 that has gone missing but several other games as well.
The player contacted Origin's chat support to ask what happened which caused more disappointment and frustration after being transferred to three different people with three different answers.
The first explanation said that since the player bought the game in 2014, he cannot play it anymore since two years have passed already. Then, he was told that the online servers for the game have been closed down already. However, he found out that it was just a lame excuse from the company because his friend still has his Red Alert 2 copy on his account.
The player explained that both reasons did not make any sense because his Battlefield 2 and Crysis games were still playable even when the online servers for the games were already closed down. Moreover, he also found out that Red Alert 2 Ultimate Edition is still available online and being sold at Origin stores.
The worst answer he got from Origin's chat support after contacting them for the third time is that they threatened him not to contact them anymore if he wants to see his Red Alert 2 problem resolved.
Other Reddit users who owned the Red Alert 2 game titles began checking their Origin library as well and some discovered that they were magically gone from their libraries, too. An Origin spokesperson addressed the situation in the chatroom and said that they were not aware that this was happening.
"I'm not aware of any cases where Origin or EA will remove games from your library. The status of the game's multiplayer services should not impact whether a game appears in your library," the spokesperson said and added that he escalated the problem already.
That somehow calmed down the Red Alert 2 fans and they are willing to wait what kind of resolution the company has.
