iVic Android App Let’s You Play With Your Phone While Driving

VAIS Technology, known for manufacturing innovative accessories dealing with in-car media interfaces and navigation systems, has released iVic (in-Vehicle Infotainment Center) – an Android app that allows users to connect their Android phones directly into their in-car displays.

The new app is compatible with most Toyota and Lexus models (post-2006 ones), and the system currently supports the DROID Bionic, DROID RAZR/MAXX, Galaxy Note, Galaxy S3 and the EVO 4G LTE.

“iVIC incorporates pure, crystal-clear sound and high-resolution HD video output to deliver incomparable sharpness and clarity. iVIC mirrors Android phone display right on existing navigation screen, and allows you to access virtually any app using touch screen or joystick,” the official page states.

The iVic system makes use of the HDMI output and is able to mirror a compatible Android smartphone’s display. It grants access to virtually any app from a car’s navigation system. Making use of the navigation screen, users can call a friend, get directions to a certain destination, or even play a game like “Angry Birds” (while the user isn’t driving, of course).

What’s more, the app also allows users to control their Android devices using the car’s touchscreen, reducing the dangers of traffic since there is no fumbling.

The system, however, doesn’t come cheap and users will have to shell out $649 for the iVic Android kit.
