Online shooters are getting released every year with a brand new gimmick or two. This time, Battlefield has taken a step-back, actually a lot of steps back, in time to recreate the scenes from World War I. Now that could keep gamers to enjoy the game, until one hacker decides to tinker around an auto-aim cheat, where you wouldn't know you died already.
In just 10 hours, a hacker deployed a cheat on Battlefield 1 allowing him to instantly kill an opponent via 'auto-aim' or some call it 'aim bot'.
How does the hack work?
This cheat is very well known in the first person shooter world but for those who don't know, auto-aim or aim bot is a very high form of 'aim-assist' that allows the user or should we say 'cheater' to blindly shoot enemies and hitting them fatally regardless if the target is in their cross hairs or not. As long as the victim is in the field view of the user, the target will surely be eliminated.
Frag Hero also reports that PC Gamer managed to capture a video which shows a cheater using the said aim bot, the said footage can also be viewed at the bottom of this article. As you can observe, the hacker scored suspiciously high. The victim on the other hand died in countless ways without even knowing what hit him (or her).
What will the game creators do about this?
One of the perks on open-beta aside from initial user reactions and early bug detection is knowing ahead who will cheat so that they can't cheat again when the game is launched. That said, DICE and EA may have intentionally allowed early access to everyone including the ability to exploit the game so that the developers will have ample time to block these hacks off when it is officially rolled out.
Battlefield 1 will let the whole world experience WWI on Oct. 28 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. What do you think about the developers' strategy? Hit us with your thoughts on the comments section. Watch the 'cheating' action below as this player miserably dies countless times without even knowing it.
