Sony Confirms Price and Availability of 4K Resolution LED TV at CEDIA 2012

Sony's 84-inch 4K resolution LED TV XBR-84X900, which was first unveiled at the IFA in August, has finally got its price tag and release date.

At CEDIA 2012, Sony announced that its first 4K screen will come at $24,999 and it will start shipping the TV in November 2012.

The XBR-84X900, which comes in the single 84-inch size, is a dynamic LED-based LCD TV that features 3840 x 2160 LCD panel, which delivers an image four times the resolution of Full HD, passive 3D, a 10-driver stereo speaker system, and a three-chip-based 4K X-Reality Pro picture engine.

Moreover, the new Sony television supports network connectivity, including the full Sony Entertainment Network suite of services.

Additionally, rival LG also unveiled its first 84-inch 4K UHDTV outside Korea this month. Priced at $19,999, LG will start shipping its 84LM9600 TV's first units this month.

Pre-order for the TV begins on Sept. 6 at www.store.sony.com, Sony Stores, and electronics retailers nationwide.
