Nintendo Wii U – No Fallout or Skyrim for New System

Just when gaming fans thought that major game developers like Ubisoft and Bioware will be heading to Nintendo's upcoming Wii U, some bad news has arrived. Per reports, developers Bethesda has confirmed that the company's titles like "Skyrim" and "Fallout" will not get a Wii U avatar.

Although previous reports have claimed that "Skyrim" may be headed to the Wii U, Pete Hines, Bethesda's VP of PR and marketing, ended speculations and told MCV in an interview that the console simply isn't something that the company is looking at.

Hines stated that Nintendo's next-gen console just doesn't fit in with the company's plans and may never will. What this means is that gamers will miss out on Bethesda franchises such as "The Elder Scrolls" or "Fallout" on a Nintendo system.

"For me the problems with new consoles are two-fold. The developers are trying to hit a moving technical target, because the platforms are being built. A new console doesn't just show up a year before launch and is exactly what it will be when it comes out," Hines said. "It moves and iterates along the way. And introducing something like that to games that are in development is always a bit tricky. And that is obviously an element of risk."

Hines also said that the company's decision is not attributed to any other factor, barring the feeling that Wii U simply isn't the platform for Bethesda to work on. Whether Bethesda considers the Wii U platform in the future is anybody's guess.
