AT&T made an official announcement that the network provider will offer the budget-friendly LG Android smartphone, Escape, from Sept. 16.
The LG Escape offers houses a 4.3-inch qHD IPS touch-screen display, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, and NFC capabilities. The smartphone also sports a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, continuous and panoramic shooting features, along with 1080p HD video shooting capability. Other features include a 4GB of on-board memory which can be expanded up to 32GB, a 2150mAh battery, and Bluetooth 4.0 capabilities.
LG has also packed in QuickMemo, the note-taking and drawing feature seen in devices like the LG Optimus Vu and the Optimus 4X HD. The Escape also sports an interesting Skyfire Horizon feature, which is a browser toolbar extension that gives access to a user's favorite social media pages while surfing the web.
The LG Escape will sell for $49.99 with a two-year contract, AT&T announced. Moreover, the network provider has also claimed that the new LG smartphone can be a good option for the budget-minded customers. "Customers looking for incredible value will quickly select the Escape," said Jeff Bradley, senior VP of devices for AT&T Mobility.
