Apple Mountain Lion 10.8.2 – Facebook integration, iMessages, and More

Apple has started pushing out the next version of OS X Mountain Lion - OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2. The newest update has been sent following the release of Apple's eagerly anticipated mobile platform iOS 6.

The Mountain Lion update has brought with it a host of features that can be compared with the company's iOS avatar. Important features include Facebook integration inside the Notification Center, Contacts, Game Center, and Mountain Lion's new "Share" button.

What's more, the 10.8.2 update also includes Power Nap support for MacBook Airs (late 2010), and has also consolidated AppleIDs and phone numbers. This inclusion means that iMessages or FaceTime calls that have been sent to the user's phone number, will also appear on their Macs.

Several bug fixes along with other feature updates have also been introduced. The notable ones include support for Passbook inside Safari and Mail, URL shortening when tweeting from Notification Center, and shared Reminder lists.

Apple has also fixed the Save As feature which generated a lot of criticism in Mountain Lion's previous version. Sina Weibo profile photos can now be added to Contacts and Dictation now supports additional languages (Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, Korean, Canadian English, Canadian French, and Italian).

Additionally, Apple also released OS X Lion 10.7.5 which has arrived with bug and stability fixes as well as Gatekeeper. Gatekeeper protects users from apps not signed by Apple.
