Now it's Samsung's turn to start the blame game. According to rumors, the Korean tech company is all set file a lawsuit against Apple for allegedly violating the former's LTE patents in its latest iPhone 5.
Foss Patents reports that a new filing with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California authenticates that the Korean tech giant is indeed gearing up to file a complaint against Apple's soon-to-be-releasing iPhone 5.
The report reveals that in a case management statement filed late on Wednesday with the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, Samsung says that the filing is in the preliminary stage as it has not yet had an opportunity to analyze the new iPhone. The filing states "the iPhone 5 will infringe [the eight patents that Samsung is already asserting in a California lawsuit against Apple, two of which have been declared standard-essential] in the same way as the other accused iPhone models", and that the company "plans to file a motion to amend its infringement contentions to address the iPhone 5 as soon as it has had a reasonable opportunity to analyze the device."
Meanwhile, The Korea Times reported last week that Samsung has chalked out plans to sue Apple in Europe and the United States for infringing on a number of patents related to LTE.
"Samsung Electronics has decided to take immediate legal action against the Cupertino-based Apple. Countries in Europe and even the United States - Apple's home turf - are our primary targets," the paper quoted an unnamed industry source as saying.
Apple did not respond to the alleged patent violation.
