"Battlefield 3" is easily one of the highly popular FPS (first-person shooter) titles currently available in the market. Now fans and modders are doing all they can to make the title more attractive for fellow gamers, even if EA DICE doesn't do much.
One of the highly controversial features in the game arrives courtesy its graphics. As of now, the game has a blue tint filter that DICE has failed to remove even with updates over the months, and it seems that the company will not take any immediate actions soon.
However, fortunately enough, even if DICE fails to deliver the right set of mods and tools to fix the issue, modders have stepped up to the challenge by taking things in their own hands and creating mods that will aim to remove this strange blue lighting technique.
"Battlefield 3" modder 'Frankelstner' has recently created a mod that removes this blue light, alongside the color grading effect. Even though Frankelstner's mod works only for BF3 at the moment, another modder named "tehfusion" has released a version of this mod that will provide the same relief to the game's expansion maps.
The fixes will allow users to edit the "Battlefield 3" game files by "tweaking the color and lighting settings for each expansion map." The fixes that have arrived include color grading, brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, and sunlight color. These fixes are applicable for Back to Karkand, Close Quarters, and Armored Kill.
"Some people were asking for this in the color correction mod thread, so Insanecrimsontid and I put this together. Basically, it does the hex editing with the sb files for you," wrote tehfusion . "It also has the default values for everything built-in, so you should be able to easily return to the original settings if you wish."
It has also been stated that the mod will not allow users to tweak natural things like sun glare, as the modders are strictly avoiding any kind of cheat. Also, the mode from tehfusion is not a replacement for Frankelstner's BF3 File Tweaker, firstly because it doesn't access any data from the base game, and secondly, as it will only allow the player to change basic visual settings.
The mod from tehfusion could be considered as a complement to Frankelstner's mod.
