Samsung’s Oct. 24 U.S. Event Includes Galaxy Note 2

Samsung owners in the U.S. are usually the last on the company's list to receive devices that have already released in other parts of the world. This trend has been around for some time and the Korean company's upcoming Galaxy Note 2 is not an exception to the rule.

However, fans and users are optimistic that the upcoming Oct. 24 press event from Samsung in the U.S. will bring something new to the forefront. Samsung has already revealed that the Galaxy Note 2 will release on Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint, although a specific release date is yet to be announced.

Speculations are rife that Samsung would be releasing the Galaxy Note 2 phablet in the U.S. on Oct. 24. However, a strong possibility exists that market leader Samsung will choose to preview the Note 2, a follow-up to its hugely successful Note, at the press event instead of announcing its release in the U.S. market.

It is also expected that the press event will likely focus on the Galaxy Note 2's features and specifications. The features include the introduction of LTE on certain U.S. network operators, along with some minor improvements that are expected to be on board with the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system on the Galaxy Note 2.

What's more, some new details regarding the pricing of the device for the U.S. market could also be revealed at or shortly after the event. As of now, the company has not shed any light or given any indications of the phablet's pricing in the U.S. However, it is expected that the U.S. Cellular model of the Note 2 will land on contract for somewhere under $300.

Additionally, Samsung's Galaxy S3 users in the U.S. are still awaiting the update from Android 4.0 Ice cream sandwich to the latest Jelly Bean platform. Reports indicate that the update could arrive at the press event, alongside the hardware for Galaxy Note 2. However, the press invitations, which were sent out for the event, have focused on a certain "next big thing" that enthusiasts conjecture hints at the arrival of the Note 2.
