According to the report of The Daily Dot, three of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 owners - whose phones destroyed their personal property, including the bedrooms of the two users and the garage, motorcycle, and ATV of another user - claims that Samsung has left them hanging as if nothing happened. They are all trying to communicate with Samsung but each of the, as well as the incident, is not recognized by the company. Samsung's response is either completely cut off communication or has been dragging its feet and offering low reimbursement costs.
Wesley Hartzog, a firefighter in South Carolina, left his Galaxy Note 7 while charging in their garage. After few hours, he was shocked because what he saw is a burning garage and he has nothing to do with it. During an interview, he told The Guardian that Samsung has been horribly unprofessional regarding this important matter.
John Barwick from Marion, Illinois destroyed the significant portion of his bedroom when his Samsung Galaxy Note 7 exploded while charging in the middle of the night. According to Barwick, the cost of replacing his damaged property including the bed, carpet and curtains amount to approximately $9,000. However, after a lot of calling and communicating with Samsung and its insurance company Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, it turned out that the best deal that he can get is a depreciated value of his damaged items.
A similar situation happened with Shawn Minter from Richmon, Virginia. He claims that his Galaxy Note 7 made his wife and infant son endangered. The device started melting and smoking that filled their bedroom. Minter contacted Samsung and get the response that the company will investigate what happened. But no representative from Samsung shows up to talk to Minter personally and to investigate the said incident. company and doesn't sound terribly satisfied with their initial responses.
All three Samsung Galaxy Note 7 owners are "disappointed" by the slow pace of the investigation and insurance claims. They hope that the promise made by the company saying they will provide for the damage loss will become true.
