iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are the new flagships of Apple. The latest smartphones were launched just last month. But why there are rumors that it is slower compared to the press release made by the company?
Most people believe that the only difference between iPhone 7 series is their storage capacities. Until they watched the video on YouTube by the popular Lewis Hilsenteger or mostly known as Unbox Therapy. In the video, Hilsenteger checks the speed of the two iPhone 7, 32 GB and 128 GB, using the Performance Test application. He also tried to transfer a movie copy from iTunes to both smartphones. The result of both tests shows that iPhone 32GB's performance is slower than the expected speed just like the other variant such as 128 GB and 256 GB.
Hilsenteger reveals the entry-level 32GB iPhone 7 delivers dramatically worse performance than both the 128GB and 256GB models - and his test results are so significant they may change your purchase plans or even motivate you to exchange your 32GB model.
According to Forbes, the result is not that great. Solid state storage, which all smartphones use, operates with chips that run in parallel. Consequently, the bigger the memory, the more chips can operate together in a unit and the faster they can go. Therefore there is no reason the 128GB and 256GB versions of the iPhone 7 should not be able to perform faster than the 32GB model.
