Sony has announced that it is going to perform a maintenance checkup on their PlayStation Network. However, it assured subscribers that it will not affect any part of the website except its status page. The update will happen next week, so for those who have accounts in the site, here are the exact details of the maintenance.
The maintenance will happen for one hour on October 25 at 10:30 - 11:30 p.m. P.T, while those who are using the Eastern time will have the maintenance on October 26 at 1:30 - 2:30 a.m E.T. Sony said that during this time, players can still play games and use other applications without any disturbance. However, the PlayStation Store, as well as Account Management and PlayStation Video will be down. Sony apologized for the inconvenience but informed its subscribers that it is to improve the network's services and performance.
"We strive to ensure that PlayStation Network services are available at all times, but occasionally we must take PlayStation Network offline to perform essential maintenance and implement feature enhancements. We are working hard to reduce the duration of each maintenance," the announcement said.
It can be remembered that the PlayStation 4 had a new update this month called the 4.01 version which did not really bring any new features. The only thing it brought was improving the performance of the console so it came as a disappointment for those who were expecting some new features.
On the one hand, it was not so bad at all since the console had received an earlier update, version 4.0, in September which added an HDR suppor for all PlayStation 4 consoles. The 4.0 update also redesigned some menus, and added some folders where players can manage their games and apps.
Sony seems to be in a roll ths last quarter of the year as it will also launch its PS4 Pro in November not to mention that in September, it already introduced its PlayStation Slim. The PS4 Pro is priced at $400 while the PS Slim is $300.
